IsraAID, an Israeli international humanitarian aid organization is looking for a social worker/ therapist and trainer in the field of psycho-social and child protection.
IsraAID, an Israel-based humanitarian aid agency, is looking for a program manager to assist in the management and implementation of a mentorship training program to target unaccompanied minors living in Kakuma refugee camp in Kenya.
The position offers an exciting opportunity to get hands-on experience in non-profit project management and lead innovative grass-roots activities in the field.
The job requires relocation to Kakuma, Kenya.
Minimum qualifications:
- Educational background in social work, social administration, education, psychology or other relevant fields
- Trained therapist or counselor.
- Ability to work well and punctually.
- Experience in protection programming, particularly for children and youth in humanitarian contexts
- Experience in project management.
- Experience developing and leading trainings and capacity building courses.
- Excellent English, both written and oral.
Preferred qualifications:
- Strong interpersonal and team skills, management experience.
- Experience working in non-profit organizations.
- Experience working in a culturally and nationally diverse team.
The position includes but not limited to:
- Coordinating the implementation of training programs in the field child protection and psycho-social services for youth along with the Kakuma Programs Director.
- Leading the program's team of mentors in expertise and vision
- Development of intensive psycho-social training programs.
- Conducting supervision, training and debriefing activities on a weekly basis
- Implementing training programs in collaboration with local and refugee staff.
- Guiding mentors on a day to day basis with difficult cases
- Offering counseling services to the beneficiary community
- Creating and managing systems of accountability
- Managing logistics, budgets, data collection and general administration of a training project.
- Representing IsraAID at meetings with government, community members, NGOs and the UN.
- Monitoring, evaluation and reporting on all projects related to the Child Resource Center.
Conditions of Employment:
- Relocating to Kakuma, Kenya.
- IsraAID will cover living expenses while in Kenya including flights, fully equipped accommodation, transportation, medical expenses related to the employment and meals.
- 5.5 working days weekly. 5 days off every 8 weeks.
